FIRST IMPRESSION SERVICE - FAQ

What is the First Impression Service and who is it for?

It is an early-stage technical assessment designed for buyers who are not yet ready to commit to a full survey. If you have found a vessel that looks interesting but want an independent view before spending money on travel or a full inspection, this is the right starting point.

What's the difference between a listing review and an accompanied viewing?

A listing review is done remotely — I assess the photographs, description, asking price, specification, and any documentation available online or provided by the broker, and give you honest feedback on whether the vessel looks worth pursuing.

An accompanied viewing is done in person — I attend the initial viewing with you or on your behalf and assess the vessel's actual condition on site.

Can you attend a viewing on my behalf if I'm not in Mallorca?

Yes. Many clients are based elsewhere in Europe and use this service specifically because they can't be present themselves.

I attend, assess, and report back with a clear recommendation.

What do I receive at the end?

Verbal feedback during or immediately after the viewing, followed by a concise written summary covering the overall condition, any significant areas of concern, and a recommendation on next steps.

It is not a full survey report — it is a clear, honest first opinion.

Will this replace the need for a full survey?

No. If you decide to proceed with a purchase, a full pre-purchase survey is always recommended.

The First Impression Service is about making sure you focus your time and money on the right vessel — not about replacing the thorough inspection that should happen before any purchase is finalised.

How quickly can a viewing be arranged?

Subject to availability and the vessel's location, viewings can usually be arranged within a few days.

Get in touch with the vessel details and location and I will confirm availability.

What if the listing is for a vessel outside Mallorca?

Accompanied viewings are available across the Balearics and mainland Spain, and can be arranged further afield across Europe depending on the project. Travel costs outside Mallorca are discussed and agreed in advance.
