YACHT MANAGEMENT
Owning a yacht should be straightforward. In practice, it rarely is. Certificates expire, maintenance gets deferred, crew arrangements fall through, and the berth booking you thought was confirmed isn't — and unless someone is actively managing the details, small oversights become expensive problems.
Yacht management provides a single point of coordination for everything the vessel needs to remain operational, compliant, and ready to use. The role is practical and owner-focused: to keep the yacht in good order, the paperwork current, and the logistics handled — so that when you want to go sailing, the boat is ready.
IDEAL FOR:
Owners not permanently based in Mallorca or on board Families or co-owners sharing the yacht across a season Vessels that are maintained but not actively crewed Owners who want oversight without the day-to-day administrative load Yachts transitioning between seasons or undergoing periodic works
MANAGEMENT INCLUDES:
- Maintenance planning and yard coordination
- Crew liaison and oversight
- Berth management and marina arrangements
- Certification and documentation tracking
- Seasonal preparation and lay-up
- Itinerary planning and shared-owner scheduling
- Supplier and contractor management
- Regular condition checks and reporting
HOW IT WORKS:
Every yacht is different, so the scope of management is agreed upfront based on the vessel, how it is used, and what level of involvement the owner wants. For a straightforward privately used yacht, that might mean a monthly check, maintenance scheduling, and a seasonal report. For a vessel shared between family members or multiple owners, it means active calendar management, coordinated access, and clear communication so that everyone knows where the yacht is and what state it is in.
At the start of the arrangement, the current status of the vessel is reviewed — certifications, outstanding maintenance, crew situation, and berth arrangements — so that any gaps are identified early and a practical management plan is put in place. From there, the day-to-day is handled: scheduling yard periods, liaising with crew, tracking renewal dates, and keeping the owner informed without generating unnecessary noise.
WHY INDEPENDENT MANAGEMENT MATTERS:
A marina works for the marina. A yard works for the yard. I work for you.
That independence matters when contractors are overcharging, when crew aren't performing, or when a decision needs to be made quickly and the owner isn't available. Having someone with technical knowledge and no commercial stake in the outcome means the advice you receive is straightforward, and the work that gets authorised is the work that actually needs doing.
For owners who are not based in Mallorca or who use the yacht infrequently, this is particularly valuable. Regular condition reports, photographic updates, and direct communication mean the yacht is never out of sight — even when you are.
